This work and the experience of weaving it was something of a pleasant surprise. I felt no angst in the making (which is REALLY unique). About halfway through I felt the work was possible, but by the end, I really appreciated its form, texture, and the variety of views it offers.
One commenter on Instagram shared, “Noticing how the thread pattern really expresses motion. I can see the motion of seawater wrapping around these partially submerged stones during tidal movement and waves. Complete reflection of mid-coast Maine!” I thought that was a beautiful way of describing the work.
