This piece is a seminal one for me as it demonstrates the TRUST one must maintain in the PROCESS of making (hence the name).
About halfway through this piece, it was a complete and utter failure…or at least that was my opinion. The sweet grass wouldn’t do what I wanted it to, things were not cooperating, just awful. I put the work down and fully planned to leave it. But then something in me said, “just finish it and move on.” And what happened? It all started to come together. Once I left behind what the work was “supposed to be” and allowed the process, the material, and my engagement to take over, this piece started to emerge! And I feel it is one of the best to date! Moral: TRUST THE PROCESS.
Enjoy your day!!
